On Formation of Clouds is an artistic research exploring the relationship between body, landscape, and the water cycle. The project unfolds the metamorphoses of water — from clouds to rain, from ice to vapor — in dialogue with the body’s presence in the natural environment, from earth to sky. Carboni worked with hydrophones to capture the subtle sounds of snow and melting ice turning into water, transforming them into part of the work’s sensory landscape. He also developed bodily practices to map the environment through gestures and actions. Created in Valle d’Aosta, in collaboration with media artist Riccardo Mantelli.
