La Storia di Q is a project freely inspired by Flatland (1884) by Edwin Abbott, reimagined through a creative lens tailored for children. Starting from this classic of fantastical and geometrical literature, Alessandro Carboni builds a creative journey that combines figurative abstraction with essential choreographic research, based on representing and measuring space through the body, objects, and primary shapes. The performance unfolds as a voyage through different worlds and dimensions, where a Flatland inhabitant — Square — discovers the existence of the third dimension. The shift from two-dimensionality to three-dimensionality is expressed through a spatial score that interweaves bodies, objects, and forms, transforming the stage into a surface for cartographic projection. A minimalist and geometric aesthetic guides the audience in an abstract exploration where narration becomes a sensory experience.
