Knot, inspired by Quad by Samuel Beckett, is a performance exploring the concept of zero as a “non-number.” Four dancers – all performed by Alessandro Carboni – move simultaneously within white squares drawn on a black background, filmed from above. Their trajectories never intersect, producing a visual and sonic score made of rhythm, repetition, and duplication. The self is gradually dematerialized through the submission of the body to a cyclical and rigorous movement. The work belongs to Carboni’s broader research on choreography, mathematics, and systems theory as tools for composition and critical reflection.
