Compost – Organic Materials, Reflections, and Working Notes on the Context Project.
Composts are cross-disciplinary reflections on the creative process of Alessandro Carboni’s new project, Context. They explore, in an organic manner, working notes, materials, studies, theoretical elements, and practical developments of the work. The Composts aim to provide reflections that enhance understanding and enrich the vision, continuously opening new perspectives and points of observation on the project and its constituent elements, in a sort of multiple-focus approach that also collects details, “discarded” parts, and small fragments… a mix of residual organic materials that nourish the ground and in turn generate new possibilities and forms. The idea is to articulate a prismatic discourse that embodies the creative process of Context, structured through processes and formats spanning different languages—from visual to performative, from textual to sonic. The very nature of Context is to be continually redefined by its constituent elements: the working method is combinatory and process-oriented, allowing the project to transform and constantly take on new forms depending on the perspective from which it is observed. Still in production, Context began to take shape in 2019 through a spatially and temporally distributed production process across various international residencies in the United States, Canada, and Europe. Due to the COVID-19 emergency, the creative development was interrupted, and the residencies and subsequent debut were postponed to 2021.
