AS IF WE WERE DUST

As if we were dust is a reflection on space as matter in transformation, and on the body as a temporary archive that records and interprets the effects of change. Starting from the observation of urban space and its processes of transformation, the artist develops a research on the concept of flow, analyzing forms, patterns, and modular structures that regulate the contemporary city. This study takes shape on stage through a brick structure arranged orthogonally. The performance unfolds as a slow and progressive process of manipulation and relocation of the bricks. Initially ordered sequences gradually turn into chaotic and unpredictable gestures: the bricks are arranged, dropped, destroyed, dispersed across the space. Among dust and debris, the artist’s body inserts itself into the emerging landscape, measuring distances, configurations, solids, and voids.
These measurements, collected by the body in the very act of doing, are reworked in real time as a choreographic score: a continuous flow of postures, actions, and transitory forms. The body thus becomes a sensitive tool of reading, capable of revealing through movement the instability and complexity of the urban landscape.
